Mencap Trust Company Ltd is a not-for-profit professional trust company wholly owned by Royal Mencap Society. We manage £22m of trust funds for 232 beneficiaries. There are a further 720 trusts which will receive funds in the future, and we continue to grow.
In July 2017, Alan Jenkins will stand down as chairman after 8 years of exceptional support. During his career, Alan was the chairman of the international law firm Eversheds. Alan has a daughter with a learning disability and a deep understanding of the challenges facing people with learning disability and their families.
Alan’s leadership has guided the Trust Company’s steady growth, and ensured that each beneficiary is at the heart of everything we do.
We are now looking for the next chairperson, who will continue to lead a steadily growing organisation. This chairperson should ideally have legal skills and a passion for people with learning disabilities.
