Guernsey
Welcome to the STEP Guernsey Branch
The Guernsey Branch was set up in 1994 with 25 members. Since
then branch membership has grown to nearly 600 people in 2008. The
association forms an important focus for practitioners in Guernsey
and the local trust industry as a whole. Our principal aim is to
provide a forum for discussion on relevant topics and to provide
continuing education for the branch members. We are also keen to
foster new members, especially through our new training
initiatives.
Typically we hold at least six seminars a year on a range of
topical issues, culminating in an annual international conference,
which normally takes place in June. The branch has also been able
to provide a regular bursary to the local financial training
agency. We are currently working on a range of projects to include
drafting standard trust deeds and associated documents and
producing a guide to the new anti-money laundering regulations.
We have a close relationship with the Guernsey Financial
Services Commission and other local agencies and associations with
whom we work together. Through our members, we are represented on a
number of consultative bodies.
