Liverpool
Welcome to the Liverpool Branch of STEP - the birthplace of the
Society.
It was from a suggestion made by Liverpool practitioner George
Tasker in the January 1991 edition of Trust & Estates magazine
that caused STEP to be created. He was appointed the first National
Chairman later that year and remained Chairman for the following
three years, becoming the President Worldwide in 1994.
The pilot meeting for the Liverpool Branch was held on 25 July
1991 and our request for branch recognition was submitted to
council following our first formal branch meeting on 15 August.
Council approved this on 12 September.
Our membership currently stands at over 140 members under Duncan
Bailey's chairmanship. We hold eight meetings a year on a monthly
basis commencing in October of each year. Visiting members are
welcome to join us, by contacting our Secretary John Duffy at
Rathbones.
