Continuing Professional Development

STEP’s CPD Centre offers a range of resources to support members' professional development

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) equips professionals to deal with a rapidly-changing business environment, and is a requirement of maintaining STEP membership.

As a professional, you should regularly reflect on your own performance, identify what you need to learn in order to improve and enhance your skill set and use those insights to plan learning activities that will help you to meet future challenges.

CPD encompasses technical competence, but should also include skills that help you to perform as a rounded professional. Therefore you should also consider personal, management and business skills as key development areas. Refreshing an awareness of ethical practice, in line with the STEP Code of Professional Conduct, is also essential CPD.

We supply members with a number of resources to enable you to meet your CPD requirements. From free access to a range of business publications and support tools for managers in the CPD Resources section below, to multiple knowledge channels designed to keep you up to date. For those who prefer formal learning, the STEP Events Calendar provides details of worldwide events and the STEP Qualifications Catalogue includes the full range of STEP certificates.

Members are required to keep CPD records for six years, with any suitable supporting documents.
