To become a STEP member within England and Wales you can apply for STEP membership through one of our available student routes or via the Advocacy Route.

STEP Foundation Certificate for England & Wales	STEP Diploma for England & Wales	Qualified Practitioner Route

Suitable for those with no experience or qualifications. It covers material that provides an introduction to the STEP Diploma.	A recognised professional qualification suitable for those with minimum experience and/or no qualifications.	A route to Full STEP membership for trust and estate practitioners who have established themselves in the field.
Advocacy Route	STEP Diploma for Accountants & Tax Practitioners	STEP Certificate for Financial Services

For anyone with rights of audience in relation to proceedings in the High Court in England & Wales or equivalent.	A route to Full STEP Membership for accountants and tax practitioners.	Enabling those in the financial services industry to work more effectively with private client professionals.
STEP Advanced Certificate in Will Preparation	STEP Advanced Certificate in Trust Disputes	STEP Advanced Certificate in Family Business Advising

Applicants are advised they should have some prior knowledge of basic will drafting and the underlying estate and tax considerations.	Understand how to anticipate, and thereby avoid, the common pitfalls which can lead to trust litigation.	Understand the complexities of the family enterprise context.

STEP Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for International Clients	STEP Advanced Certificate in International Succession and Probate

Enabling private client advisors to demonstrate expertise in UK tax planning for international clients.	Enhancing your knowledge of succession and probate in an international context.
