Boost to philanthropy as STEP and EAPG join forces

In a boost to the philanthropy advisory sector, two leading philanthropy bodies, STEP, The Society of Trust & Estate Practitioner and EAPG, The European Association for Philanthropy and Giving, have agreed to work together to provide a jointly developed educational series for advisors.

The new series entitled ‘The Philanthropy Programme’ is underpinned by a programme advisory committee chaired by Lord Janvrin, Non-Executive Director of HSBC Private Bank.

STEP & EAPG have developed this educational series comprising five stimulating and thought provoking events.  The programme is for all professions engaged in the provision of philanthropy and major charitable giving advice and complements existing activities offered by both STEP and EAPG.

Keith Johnston, Director of Philanthropy at STEP said, “STEP and EAPG support and develop the philanthropy advisory market with first class professional development within the UK and beyond.  This alliance will strengthen the offering of both organisations.”

Sue Daniels, Executive Director, EAPG said, “Working with STEP has enabled the creation of a programme that will ensure professional advisors have access to the most current information that will enable them to work more successfully with their clients and to develop and build their philanthropy practices”.

The Philanthropy programme launches on the 21 February 2012 with an event entitled ‘Philanthropy Advice: is the current business model right for your clients?’ which will be held in central London.
