Overview of Role

The Senior Trust Accountant must be able to assume full accounting responsibility on highly complex cases and should possess specialist knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

  • Financial investments;
  • Valuation of fixed assets/unquoted investments/operating businesses.

It would be an advantage for the Senior Trust Accountant to have working knowledge of relevant accounting standards such as IFRS and IAS


  • Prepare and finalise financial statements and wealth statements from standard to complex trusts and fiduciary structures, with varying levels of input in accordance with the appropriate accounting standards
  • Involvement in the quarterly investment performance monitoring process and taking charge of client specific investment reporting as well as annual regulatory reporting under FATCA / CRS
  • Involvement in mandate specific transactions and communication with bankers, lawyers, accountants, agents and consultants in close coordination with trust administration and wealth planning
  • Understanding the main commercial and business risks /opportunities within the mandates assigned, ensuring a high level of service
  • Responsibility for ongoing / routine risk assessment on own mandates and working on non-routine transactional (case), work in close coordination with the trust officer, manager, wealth planning and other relevant parties
  • Active participation on projects
  • Identifying opportunities to improve work stream efficiencies relating to team functions and able to monitor workloads of junior members of the accounting team
Education and Qualifications
  • Completion of professional accounting specific examinations, such as ACCA Experience, Skills and Competencies Required
  • A minimum of 5 years post qualified accounting experience, preferably in the private trust business or in the financial industry with a focus on asset management for private clients

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices

  • Meticulous work ethics and strong analytical skills

  • Ability to contribute improve the company’s working directives and procedures

  • Able to establish priorities, keep deadlines, the ability to work under pressure

  • Distinctly reliable and precise, conscientious, professional with good friendly demeanour and ability to interact with all persons

  • Computer literacy is essential, with specifically advanced excel skills (advanced formulas, table formatting and pivot tables)

  • Excellent communication skills and natural strong team spirit

  • Good work ethics, full awareness of risk, a positive working attitude, seeking continuous service improvement and working standards

  • Good verbal and written communications skills required in English. Other languages are an advantage
