Associate Director, International Wealth Planning Business Development CIBC Trust Company (Bahamas) Limited

We are looking to fill the following position:

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Associate Director is responsible for selling a full range of Trust and Private Banking Services by actively identifying, cultivating and soliciting business prospects.  

The incumbent is also responsible for managing the business development and marketing programs in an effort to increase the overall revenue of the business.

About You

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a business development role in the offshore financial services sector (preferably with at least 5 years sales experience within the trust services industry).
  • Degree in Law/Business/Commerce and the holder of the STEP designation. 

  • Experience leading business development efforts including managing the new business development process from lead generation, delivering solution pitches, negotiating and closing deals.

  • Established referral network and proven leadership skills. 

  • A strong executive presence with proven ability to generate new business through prospecting.

  • Sound knowledge of Wealth Structuring products and services such as Trusts, Private Trust Companies, Foundations, Global Custody, Discretionary Investment Management, and Private Banking and Credit Solutions.
Ability to prepare and lead in client presentations.  

  • Ability to translate complex wealth planning and trust structures into solutions that meet the clients’ objectives.
• Excellent sales and relationship building skills are required to identify appropriate business opportunities and to proactively promote our services.

  • Strong knowledge of KYC, client acceptance and anti-money laundering requirements in accordance with the laws of the Bahamas and or the Cayman Islands. Keeping abreast of and understanding the constant regulatory changes in the industry will be an asset in mitigating risk in the offshore trust sector.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be fluent in Spanish and the ability to speak Portuguese would be an asset.

  • Strong negotiation skills to obtain results.

  • Willingness to travel frequently. 

  • Well-developed time management skills together with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
Ability to work effectively with both internal and external clients and other key stakeholders.

  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
