More about STEP Los Angeles

Branch Chair: Pamela Drucker, TEP

STEP Los Angeles now has more than 90 members. You can view our executive committee and officers on this page under the tab for Branch Officers.

In addition to the annual STEP International Tax and Estate Planning Forum, STEP Los Angeles has six or more events a year that include breakfast and lunch meetings with presentations (qualifying for continuing education credits) by internationally and nationally known experts on timely subjects.

Almost every trust and estates professional has some exposure to international issues and STEP, unlike other tax organizations, distinguishes itself by providing a forum to discuss these multijurisdictional issues and learn about the most recent developments in the field. Again, we welcome you to STEP Los Angeles and hope that you will continue to support us in our efforts.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Please be advised that due to concerns over the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), the STEP LA Executive Committees has decided to postponed the March 25, 2020 International Philanthropy Program, which had been scheduled to be held at Greenberg Traurig LLP. All who have registered for the program will receive a credit against future program registration fees. If you have any questions/concerns, please contact Pamela Drucker, Chair of the STEP Los Angeles, or Megan Jones, Vice Chairman, Programs Committee

Business Families Group

Reporting to, and operating as a sub-committee of STEP Los Angeles, California Branch, this satellite SIG was formed in early 2017 to raise the profile, understanding, and impact of family dynamics in family business succession. It is a satellite of the Business Families Global Special Interest Group (SIG). The group’s mission is to help advisers better inform their clients not only as to the legal issues involved in international business succession but also the predicable family issues faced in designing the estate/succession plan. It aims to achieve this through a series of seminars, presentations, a USA newsletter, and conferences which create an awareness of the issues and possible solutions to help avoid (not eliminate) the almost predictable family conflicts and resulting consequences. For more information on the Business Families SIG, please contact its Coordinating Officer - John W. Ambrecht, TEP
