Call for Abstracts

Call for Abstracts for the upcoming Academic Community Symposium

The Academic Community will hold its annual symposium at Singapore Management University on 7 November 2019. Academics and practitioners from all countries and disciplines including law, business and social sciences are invited to submit an abstract for this year’s conference on the following themes:

  • Diminished Capacity – Identifying clients with diminished capacity and how advisers can manage these risks
  • Elder financial abuse – Identifying elder abuse and how to protect the assets, rights and wishes of the vulnerable
  • Cyber security issues for advisers and their clients – Issues and challenges

In addition to the conference themes we encourage submissions of abstracts in:

  • Family business and succession
  • Estate planning and estate administration
  • Trusts and inheritance
  • Closely held businesses and family fiscal enterprises in multiple jurisdictions
  • Cross-border recognition of trusts,  wills and succession arrangements

Submission Procedure

Abstracts should be no longer than 1,500 words in either MS Word (.docx) or PDF format. Closing date for submission is 12 August 2019. Authors of accepted abstracts will be notified by 26 August 2019. The final programme will be released on 6 September 2019.
