Philanthropy Advisors Global SIG Steering Committee Elections 2020

Three vacancies have arisen on the Philanthropy Advisors Global Special Interest Group (SIG) Steering Committee and they are now accepting applications to fill these vacancies and bring the committee to its full complement of twelve members. 

The SIG Committee's wish is for committee representatives, in so far as possible, to reflect the global make-up of its membership. The STEP Worldwide Board also endorses geographic diversity and encourages global applications to give a balanced composition to the Global SIG Steering Committee as per guidance outlined in the Global SIG Terms of Reference. Candidates are therefore encouraged to highlight jurisdictional experience in their personal statement and professional experience.

If you wish to stand for one of the steering committee positions, then please complete the application form below and submit to with the subject line: ‘Philanthropy Advisors SIG Steering Committee Application-[INSERT CANDIDATE NAME]'. Applications must be received no later than 11:59pm London, UK (GMT), Tuesday 21 January 2020.

In submitting an application, please ensure that you read the Global SIG Terms of Reference, which set forth the rules and guidance on all matters relating to the running, governance and operation of special interest groups, to include detail on the responsibilities and obligations you would undertake as a Global SIG Steering Committee member and who is eligible to apply. If successfully elected, Members of the Committee are expected to actively participate in the work of the Committee on behalf of the global SIG and regularly attend committee meetings, joining either in person or by means of tele-/web-conferencing equipment (occurring four-six times in a calendar year).

These elections to the steering committee will take place to the following schedule:

8 January 2020

Upcoming election dates and request for candidate submissions announced.

21 January 2020

Deadline for candidate applications (applications received after 11.59pm GMT on 21 January will not be accepted).

27 January – 6 February 2020

Members of the SIG provided with details of candidates running.

Online voting available to SIG members for a period of 11 days.

By 10 February 2020

Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be individually informed. Positions accepted will have terms of service denoted as commencing 1 January 2020, in line with SIG governance processes.

By 14 February 2020

The election results will be publicly announced.

19 March 2020

New committee members invited to attend first committee meeting.
