Cayman Wealth Structuring Week 2021

Global travel restrictions mean that our usual STEP Cayman International Wealth Structuring Forum cannot go ahead as usual in January 2021. Instead, STEP Cayman is proud to be offering a series of online events for our international connections, together with a number of in-person events for our local Branch members. Woven into our week-long event series will be the launch of our 2021 "Trust Cayman" Magazine, showcasing the latest developments in the Cayman Islands trust industry and including commentary and analysis from local STEP Branch members.

The webinars will be live, with opportunities for Q&A, but all webinars will also be recorded so that you can re-watch them on demand afterwards

Solving modern problems for modern trustees

The modern trustee faces a number of modern challenges: a next generation of beneficiaries seeking greater involvement in the management of family wealth, requests to ensure trust assets are invested in sustainable or environmentally responsible sectors, new categories of activist settlors seeking to use their wealth to offer reparations or to support social justice. Our panel will discuss how trustees can best meet these new challenges, and adapt the structures and processes associated with a traditional trust relationship to work effectively in the modern world.
