Presenter - Gillian Christian, Director Keystone Law, Isle of Man.

Gill qualified as a Manx Advocate on the Isle of Man in 2004 and is now head of the Litigation Department at Keystone Law (Isle of Man). Gill has a primary focus in trust litigation and trust disputes, acting as in-house legal counsel for a number of Isle of Man trust and corporate service providers. Gill has acted on a number of trustee mistake applications, including the landmark decision, AB v CD [2016], whereby she acted for the successful claimant in the first decision in the Isle of Man courts on the Hastings-Bass principle and on the law relating to relief for equitable mistake following its reformulation by the UK Supreme Court in Pitt v Holt. She also dealt with considerations of the need to protect the identity of the settlor, the trustee and the beneficiaries where private family trusts are involved. Further recent successful cases also include, Oliver & Oths v Fedelta Trustees [2020] and Mr AH v (1) Greyco Limited and (2) ABC Trust Company Limited [2020] involving similar issues.
