Brian Cohen will review current developments in estate planning for Canadian and Multi-National Families. As part of his review, Brian will cover considerations in leaving Canada, non-resident trust rules, ownership of real property by Canadians as well as issues pertaining to U.S. citizens owning property in Canada.

Brian is a partner and lawyer in Gowling WLG's global Private Client Services Group. He is also co-leader of the firm's National Private Client Services Group. Based in Toronto, he assists clients in the areas of estate planning, trusts and personal taxation, with a focus on advising high net worth individuals on succession planning alternatives.

Brian also serves as a Director and Treasurer of STEP Canada.
