This practical seminar will be relevant for those who do not ordinarily operate in the charity sector and who are seeking an introduction, as well as charity specialists.
Speaker Biographies
Zaki Cooper is co-founder of Integra, a strategic communications agency advising family offices, entrepreneurs, leaders and businesses on their communications and philanthropy/ impact. Prior to that, he was Director of Philanthropy and Communications for Sir Lloyd Dorfman CBE and has also worked as an Assistant Press Secretary at Buckingham Palace, for Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks and in a range of corporate environments. He sat on the FCO Diplomatic Excellence Panel and is a Trustee of the Council of Christians and Jews. He has delivered a TEDx talk and written widely, including co-author of a book on cricket grounds, and numerous articles online and in newspapers. He has a BA from Leeds University and an M Phil from Cambridge University.
Amy Jakar is Head of Development at Prism the Gift Fund (Prism), a UK-registered charity and Donor Advised Fund, administering the significant giving of individuals, groups and corporates donating to charitable causes globally. As well as managing a portfolio of donors, Amy works closely with private client advisory firms to increase the visibility of Prism's philanthropy services and encourage more efficient giving to benefit the charity sector. Previously, Amy worked with philanthropists at charities such as Shelter and British Council, nurturing relationships with HNW individuals and developing partnerships with private companies to solicit new streams of funding for the organisations. Amy is on the judging panel for the Third Sector Business Charity Awards 2023.
Hannah Blakey is a Senior Associate in Maurice Turnor Gardner’s private wealth team. Hannah was named as a Key Lawyer in the Legal 500 2021 guide for Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate and a Key Lawyer in the Legal 500 2022 guide for Charities. Hannah advises on a wide range of private client matters, including traditional estate planning and Wills, probate and immigration. Hannah has a flourishing charity practice, advising charities throughout their lifespan from registration onwards. In particular, she supports high-net-worth individuals on the options available to structure their philanthropic endeavours and charities with their ongoing administration, including day-to-day governance and grant-making matters.
