Speaker: Caroline Bielanska
Caroline Bielanska heads a consultancy service for law firms throughout England and Wales to troubleshoot in complex cases involving vulnerable and older clients. She is the co-founder, former Chief Executive and former Chair of Solicitors for the Elderly. Caroline is a well-known lecturer and trainer. She is editor, author and contributor to a significant number of legal books including A Practitioner’s Guide to the Court of Protection (Bloomsbury Publishing), Cretney and Lush on Lasting & Enduring Powers of Attorney (Lexis Nexis), Elderly Clients - A Precedent Manual (Jordan), Court of Protection Practice (Heywood and Massey) and Elderly People and the Law (Jordan). Caroline is currently the author and tutor for the STEP Advanced Certificate in Advising Vulnerable Clients.
Caroline will talk about guidance on making gifts and will include consideration of what LPA attorneys should do about gifts where a donor still has capacity in relation to some decisions but lacks capacity in relation to other decisions.
