This will provide a comprehensive review of developments over the last few months and will examine the implications for private client practitioners. 

It will include:

  • A brief look at the 2nd Report of the OTS on simplification of IHT
  • The most common questions on the RNRB
  • Decisions in the areas of wills, trusts and professional practice with particular emphasis on lessons to be learned and good practice:

  • The recent run of cases on I(PFD) A 1975
  • Will drafting implications of Naylor v Barlow
  • How to approach an equitable rescission claim
  • An update on the Guardianship of Missing Persons Act 2017: where are we now?
  • Opposite sex civil partnerships

  • Identify the impact of recent developments on your day to day practice; and make appropriate amendments to your advice and practice.
