International complexities are becoming the norm for Australian families with the increase in Australians born overseas and the prevalence of the global community, the international aspects of taxation within deceased estates and testamentary trusts now more topical than ever. In this presentation Ian will focus on the planning and pitfalls of administering an estate with international aspects, including: · Deceased estates with foreign assets; · Deceased estates with non-resident executors; · Foreign resident capital gains including main residence; and · Taxation of non-resident beneficiaries and withholding tax rules.
