2017 Special Interest Spotlight Session - Morning Option 3, presented by the Mental Capacity SIG

This conference forms part of a day of special interest sessions comprising seven options. There will be a breakfast, three morning sessions and three afternoon sessions for you to choose from. Both STEP members and non-members are welcome!

Capacity and Powers of Attorney Around the World

Event Focus

How lasting powers of attorney (and their equivalent in other countries) are a vital tool for families and their financial affairs when a family member loses mental capacity.

The Mental Capacity Special Interest Group's conference will provide a series of short updates on capacity changes around the world, particularly from jurisdictions where changes have recently taken place. This will be followed by a panel discussion about lasting powers of attorney in England & Wales, their equivalents in other jurisdictions and how they respectively do (or do not) work across borders.
