Matrimonial Property Regimes in an International Context
Event Focus
On 29 January 2019 two EU Regulations will come into force harmonising the private international law rules for both matrimonial property regimes and the property consequences of registered partnerships. These will be directly applicable within a significant part of the European Union, and will also be of wider interest to other jurisdictions. Just as with the EU Succession Regulation, the new Regulations will have a significant impact on cross-border estates with a European element.
This conference will explore the impact and limitations of the new Regulations. It will also serve as a refresher for matrimonial property regimes and registered partnerships more generally, and their importance within cross-border estate planning. It will also cover important issues and need-to-know information for anyone dealing with clients with a cross-border element.
