The 30th Annual General Meeting of STEP London Central Branch will be a hybrid event. Please join via Teams or in person.
Committee Members: There are currently 15 members of the Branch Committee and most have indicated a willingness to stand for re-election. The Branch Committee has determined that there should be up to 20 members of the Committee. There is a nomination form on the website to enable you to make a nomination if you so wish
Voting: Details of the Accounts for year ending March 2022 and a List of potential Committee Members nominees can be found on the Branch website. Members are invited to register their votes by a show of hands
Seminar: The AGM will be followed by a talk on “Tax residency – A discussion of recent cases including Oppenheimer and A Taxpayer” presented by Oliver Marre of 5 Stones Buildings details of which will shortly be available for viewing and downloading on the London Central Branch page of the STEP website
Speaker: Oliver Marre is a barrister in practice at 5 Stone Buildings, Lincoln's Inn. He specialises in all aspects of tax law - both contentious and non-contentious - with an emphasis on private client work and associated corporate matters. He has variously been described as "my go-to barrister" (Who's Who Legal), "very approachable, highly knowledgeable and brilliant with clients" (Chambers UK), "an excellent communicator who is a pleasure to work with" (Chambers Global) and "incredibly bright" (Legal 500). He used to be the online moderator of the leading practitioner work on residence and domicile and is now the tax correspondent for Private Client Business and the author of the chapter on the taxation of HNW clients for Tolley's Tax Planning as well as a regular contributor to other publications.
