Estate administration is a duties minefield. A small misstep when transferring dutiable property from a deceased estate can result in a substantial duties assessment. This presentation will cover:

• Transfer duty (formerly stamp duty) implications of deceased estate transfers
• Concessions available for deceased estates
• Common traps that can trigger exceptional stings and practice-oriented tips to minimise risk exposure
• Other matters that should be taken into consideration when transferring property from a deceased estate. Certain transfers are subject to taxation and the rules against foreign investment. Beware of winning the battle but losing the war.
