The USA: a closer look at the world’s largest trust jurisdiction(s). 24 June 2021
Description
2020, with all its uncertainties and new ways of working, has boosted interest in and demand for trusts and foundations around the world.
An increasing number of ultra high-net-worth families are waking up to the importance of succession planning and asset preservation thanks to the loss of a sense of invincibility felt in ‘normal’ times.
It is particular relevant in the US, where trusts are seen as critical tool for the smooth transition of wealth as we approach the ‘Great Global Wealth Transfer’ and beyond.
The trust industry in the USA has been around for many years, but the sector has undergone much change, evolution and a sort of ‘renaissance’ over the past decade. These trends come from a variety of perspectives, including legislative, commercial, wealth segments, asset-classes, regulatory and globalisation.
This session will take a look back and forward to help attendees get a real picture of the world’s largest trust industry and what is likely to come
