This notice explains the Terms and Conditions for STEP's Web Events comprising webcasts and webinars.
STEP Web Events are online seminars, presentations and discussions which comprise two types:
- Webcasts - pre-recorded, video web broadcasts
- Webinars - a live web presentation with participant interaction
Detailed information for each Web Event can be found on their listings page. You can browse through the calendar of STEP Web Events here.
Usage and access
The purchase of a STEP Web Event attendance is for use by the purchaser/registrant only and registration information should not be forwarded on to third parties. Similarly, do not share your registration details for multiple admittance to a Web Event; doing so may hinder your own access, as entry is by prior registration only. Similarly, the materials and replay of STEP Web Events are for use by the purchaser/registrant only and should not be forwarded on to third parties.
The Web Event registration fee includes participation in that session, any documentation material and access to a replay link (where available, and usually subject to a time-limitation). All bookings are considered binding on completion of the registration form.
Please note we can only accept credit/debit cards as methods of payment for Web Events. Payment must be made by credit/debit card at time of booking.
It is regretted that refunds of purchased Web Events are not permissible, nor transferable to another participant/registrant name or session/event. All bookings are considered binding once the online registration form is submitted and booking completed. Web Events with a fee attached to them clearly denote what is comprised in this fee on the respective event’s 'Fees' page.
It is intended for an archive of Web Events to be made available through STEP's website and remain accessible for a period of time, however it may be necessary or deemed appropriate for certain events to be de-listed, for which STEP reserves the right to do so.
In the event of there being insufficient numbers booked onto a Web Event, STEP reserves the right to cancel or postpone the event.
In the event that STEP postpones the Web Event, any payment the Delegate has made as at the date of postponement will be credited towards the rescheduled date. If the Delegate is unable to attend the rescheduled Web Event, or if STEP cancels the Web Event indefinitely, the Delegate shall be entitled to receive 100% refund of all sums paid to STEP. In the event of cancellation, STEP will endeavour to inform all delegates a week before the event is due to take place, although please be aware that this is not always possible. All event fees paid will be reimbursed in full, or the payment will be transferred in full to another Web Event within the same Web Event series and the same calendar year. STEP shall not accept liability for any consequential loss and shall have no liability to reimburse any other costs that may have been incurred. It is recommended that you seek adequate insurance for such eventualities.
Where Web Events are CPD/CPE accredited, the length and applicable schemes will be denoted on the respective event’s 'Info' summary page.
All rights in and relating to STEP Web Events are expressly reserved. No part of the Web Events may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system or transmitted in any form or by any means without written permission from STEP.
STEP Web Events are intended as a general guide only. The information and opinions they contain are not intended to be a comprehensive study, nor to provide advice, and should not be treated as a substitute for advice concerning particular situations. Professional advice should always be sought before taking any action based on the information provided.
The views expressed in the Web Events are not necessarily those of STEP and viewers should seek the guidance of a suitably qualified professional before taking any action or entering into any agreement in reliance upon the information contained in these Web Events. While the utmost is done by STEP to ensure its Web Events are of the highest quality, STEP cannot guarantee the complete accuracy, validity, integrity or quality of the material shared within its Web Events. STEP does not accept liability or responsibility for errors or omissions in the material, however caused.
It may be necessary for reasons beyond control of STEP to alter the content and timing of the programme or the identity of the speakers.
STEP shall not be responsible for any loss or damage as a result of substitution, alteration, cancellation or postponement of the Web Event due to an event of force majeure, unforeseen occurrence or any other event that renders performance of this event inadvisable, illegal, impracticable or impossible. For purposes of these Booking Conditions an event of force majeure shall include, but shall not be limited to: adverse weather, government restrictions and/or regulations; war or apparent act of war; terrorism or apparent act or threat of terrorism; disaster; civil disorder; disturbance and/ riots; curtailment, suspension and/or restriction on transportation facilities/means of transportation; or any other emergency or circumstances outside a party’s reasonable control.
In the instance of webinars wherein the Web-Event registration fee includes access to a recording / link to a replay of the Web-Event following the live event, STEP cannot be held responsible for failed capture of the recording or audio quality and Web-Event fees paid will not be reimbursed for thus reason.
