Jersey trust and foundation: What your clients need to know

Jersey has been a leading international finance centre (IFC) for more than 60 years. Madam Mari-Len NGU, who currently holds the Managing Director, Head of Group Regional Client Coverage position at Pacific Trustees Group, has 20 years’ experience in trust and fiduciary industry and corporate governance and had work physically in Hong Kong, Singapore, Jersey Channel Islands and Labuan/Malaysia. Her experience includes international corporate structure planning in cross borders’ transaction and business expansion.

Maria McDermott - Business Development Consultant of Jersey Finance 
Maria was born in Jersey, and has over twenty years’ experience working in the international finance industry and is experienced in investment funds, private wealth, compliance, risk management and project management. She has been based in Asia for the last ten years having transferred to Hong Kong from Ogier Fiduciary Services Jersey to develop the fiduciary services business in Hong Kong. During her time in Asia she has also worked for various listed entities and financial service providers in Singapore and Shanghai, and is now based full time in Shanghai. Prior to her time in Asia she spent over ten years working for a number of law firms and fiduciary service providers in Jersey.

Robert Dobbyn - Partner of Walkers 
Robert is one of the leading non-contentious trusts practitioners in Jersey, and heads Walkers' Jersey Private Capital and Trusts Group. He focuses on private client structuring and advice, and is an expert in Jersey foundation structures. Robert is a Jersey Advocate who has spent more than a decade specialising in o shore private client work. He is recognised for the quality of his client service and advice by both Chambers UK and Legal 500, and he regularly contributes to a number of prestigious international publications dealing with o shore trusts, foundations and succession matters.
