History

When and why was STEP established?

STEP was formed in 1991 as a forum for practitioners to share best practice in the specialist field of trusts and estates.

The concept proved popular and word quickly spread, leading to the establishment of branches in a number of countries.

By 2000, STEP had developed into a worldwide professional body offering a range of specialist qualifications and resources and setting high standards that provide members, their employers, and their clients with confidence.
