What does your firm do?

Kelemen, Meszaros, Sandor and Partners gives legal advice and drafts documents in trust and inheritance cases.

What is the most important thing STEP does, in your opinion?

STEP supports our work and helps us find the best solutions in estate planning.

You will be speaking at the STEP Europe Conference in late June. What will you be speaking on?

I will analyse the legal regulations of Hungary’s trust and family foundations.

Why is this topic important for practitioners in 2019?

Hungary is becoming a popular jurisdiction in estate planning.

What do you feel are the main issues for the European region in 2019?

Estate planning and data protection are very important issues for European people.

What do you most like about your job?

I enjoy helping people with wealth management.

To see satisfied clients.

What would you say to a young person thinking of a career in this industry?

I would recommend the industry and encourage young people to get involved.

Which sectors are likely to see the strongest future growth, do you think?

I would say cross-border estate planning has a bright future.

What about jurisdictions?

In my opinion Hungary’s jurisdiction can act as a bridge between western and eastern Europe.

What trends do you see in the global private wealth sector at the moment?

I think there is a strong need for asset protection and family wealth preservation.

What do you feel are the main challenges facing your organisation at the moment?

Clients need to be confident that their privacy and confidentiality is maintained.

A practising lawyer with Kelemen, Meszaros, Sandor and Partners in Budapest, he specialises in commercial law, company law and trust law.
