Summary:

Trusts in Malta are set up in accordance with the Trust and Trustees Act (TTA), cap 331, which is influenced by the Jersey law on trust. The TTA provides that a trust is generally governed by its proper law, which is determined in accordance with the provisions of the TTA. It further offers the applicability of most Hague Convention on Trusts (the Convention) provisions, giving them the force of law in Malta.
