Biography:

Katarinna counsels individuals, entrepreneurs, athletes and entertainers, family businesses, family offices and charitable organizations on advanced transfer-tax strategies.

She renders holistic and sophisticated advice and implements tax and asset protection strategies for clients in all stages of their relationships, whether it is a sale of their business or a new marriage, and expertly crafts and negotiates premarital and post-marital agreements.

Katarinna is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and serves on ACTEC's International Estate Planning Committee and the Practice Committee. Katarinna is the Treasurer of the Chicago Branch of STEP and also serves as their Chair of Media Relations.

Katarinna served on the advisory board that established the Illinois Masters in Estate Planning (LL.M Program). She authors the Estate Planning column for the Illinois Bar Journal and publishes for Trusts & Estates Magazine and numerous other publications. She received the Service Award for her role as Editor for the Illinois State Bar Association Trusts & Estates publication.

Katarinna is a featured tax expert for Fox News, ABC News, NBC News and CBS News and is a frequent speaker and moderator for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE), the Illinois Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association and for family office panels and consortiums, focusing on both practical and technical topics.

Katarinna's prior legal experience includes serving as the Chair of the estate planning and business transactional team for a Chicago law firm and serving as tax, family office and estate planning counsel at both large and mid-size law firms in the Chicago area.

She is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized as a Leading Lawyer for her expertise and excellence in trust & estate planning, business representation and the representation of charitable organizations. Katarinna serves on the Board of several charitable organizations.
