Licensed Access Recognition (E&W)

STEP is listed in the First Schedule of the Licensed Access Recognition Regulations (Professional Associations or Ombudsman Services) as approved by the Bar Standard Board. This license permits all Full Members of STEP, whose registered place of business is within England and Wales to instruct barristers directly either on their own behalf or on behalf of their employers, employees, clients and customers to obtain advice and representation in all courts and tribunals in England and Wales, and for arbitration, adjudication, and mediation.

Reduced annual subscription rate April 2020 - March 2021 for the Family Firms Institute (FFI)

A limited number of FFI memberships were available at this rate for the 2020/21 period and orders were taken on a first come, first served basis.

All available memberships for the 2020/21 period have now been allocated. We will have further memberships available from April 2021.

STEP, as an Association Member to the global Family Firms Institute (FFI), is able to pass on to STEP Business Families SIG members an opportunity for subscription to FFI. Normally costing US$880 per annum for those in commerce and US$450 per annum for those in education or research, FFI membership through STEP will cost STEP members US$200 / GB£145 / EUR€165 OR CHF190.

To take advantage of this Business Families SIG member benefit, email orders@step.org with your request. You will then be invoiced for the subscription amount; subscription will commence upon payment where your details will be passed to FFI for activation. This member offer is for FFI membership subscription until 31 March 2021.

Please note: There are a limited number of FFI memberships available at this rate; orders will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Payment will be due within 14 days of your order being submitted. If payment is not made within the time frame, then your invoice will be cancelled and the discount released to others. STEP Members Receive 15% Discount on Course Fee for ICA Advanced Certificate in Legal Compliance

Members should use the application form (PDF 160KB), and include their STEP membership number to receive the discounted rate.

This certification is awarded by the ICA in association with the Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, and is offered in collaboration with the Legal Compliance Association (LCA) and STEP.

This qualification has been designed by legal compliance practitioners. The course provides a comprehensive overview of the legal regulatory environment, the role of compliance professionals, their functions and position within the regulatory regime and their relationship with the business and other members of the firm.
